Then at the end of the day they sit in silence, drinking tea or wine and don’t ask how the other person is faring. They just have a shared silent understanding that each can’t let go of the guy they hate, so they will take care of that guy for each other.

He’d be a good big brother. Not a martial brother but a ghost brother.

Maybe under his guidance she could elevate to a near-supreme level. Higher than Qirong would ever dream to achieve.

BUT, he wouldn’t want her to become a supreme. That would require too much suffering.

I think he would want to protect her and teach her another way.

But he wouldn’t be very assertive. He would just get really grumpy and quiet and sad when she does something he doesn’t approve of.

I think he would feel a sense of duty to protect this girl. To show her she doesn’t always have to be the one to sacrifice herself. She doesn’t have to always be the one to give. There’s a time and place for give and take. There’s a time to act and a time to wait.

Meanwhile Banyue, throws Ke Mo’s soldiers into a pit, gets caught by Ke Mo, and hung again. She lets it happen, hoping it can assuage some of his resentment. You see Pei Xiu’s face when he sees her hung up there.

It must hurt.

I don’t think He Xuan would like this lack of self-preservation.

close to anyone out of subconscious fear the Reverend of Empty words would pursue them, BUT Banyue is already dead so there’s no risk there, I guess :’)

Anyways, it goes like this, He Xuan has always had a drive to survive. He never gave up in life, and he never gave up on his revenge in death.

He also has a tendency to “ooops they’re gone now oh well onto the next life. I get why he didn’t go back to Peiyue after the stampede because he was supposedly a mortal and that stampede would have killed any mortal.

But when Hua Cheng swapped with Lang Ying? “San Lang must have had his reasons.”

Bcs, Hua Cheng is kind enough, but he still only truly cares about Xie Lian. This guy gets jealous of his own sword, how can he possibly have room enough in his heart for a child?

And Xie Lian. While he has a tendency to acquire children from time to time (Honghong’er, Banyue, Pei Xiu, Lang Ying…)
