Black individuals constitute approximately 22% of North Carolina’s population but represent 52% of its incarcerated population. This overrepresentation extends to those serving long-term sentences, with Black individuals comprising 60.1% of those serving life sentences or equivalent.
Don’t forget👇

Black Medicaid providers, particularly the Eastern District of NC face disproportionately high criminal charges & incarceration not civil penalties like white & other ethnic providers that commit far more egregious and damaging fraud to the Medicaid system.
In the Eastern District of NC, systemic racism runs deep—judges block motions, denying basic rights. Poor Black, Brown, and White communities suffer as the DOJ fails to address racial bias in jury selection and sentencing.

That Means:

It can cost 25 to 50+ times more than the amount at stake—raising serious questions about:
• Resource use
• Selective prosecution
• Political targeting
• Racial or class-based disparities
4. Expert Witnesses, Forensics, or Audits:
•Est. $10,000–$50,000 if used

Total Estimate:

$250,000 to $600,000+
To prosecute a case over $11,000 in alleged fraud or loss.
2. Federal Investigator (FBI, OIG, etc.):
•Investigations can cost $100/hr+, sometimes running into hundreds of hours •Est. $50,000–$150,000

3. Court System Costs:
•Judges, clerks, marshals, public defenders •Est. $25,000–$75,000
Estimated Costs to Taxpayers:

1. U.S. Attorney Staff Time:
•Prosecutor + support staff
•Est. $150,000–$300,000 over two years. #EDNC
Speaking of wasted tax money!

How much taxpayer money is wasted when the federal government(prosecutor)spends two years prosecuting a case over just $11,000?
Justice in EDNC looks more like control. And we should all be asking:

How is this legal? Who is this serving? And how long are we going to stay quiet about it?

#EDNC #JusticeSystem #CivilForfeiture #PoorWhites #MassIncarceration #FederalCourt #DueProcess #ThinkAboutIt
So who’s paying the price? It’s not the wealthy or the powerful. It’s working-class rural whites, Black families, and everyday people who get swallowed up by a system designed to take, not to serve.
This isn’t due process. It’s a conveyor belt.

And as if that weren’t enough, the EDNC also has one of the highest civil asset forfeiture rates in the nation. People are losing homes, cash, land—without even being convicted of a crime. No trial. No verdict. Just loss.
And here’s something even more alarming: Defendants in this district often can’t even get motions heard. No voice in court. No chance to challenge the system. Just processed and pushed toward plea deals, fast.
Let’s break it down: Is the justice system really that flawless—or is it because it’s overwhelmingly targeting Black people and poor whites who can’t afford top-tier legal defense?
Question to all NC natives. Those of you still living in NC. How is it

How is it possible that the EDNC has a near 100% federal conviction rate—and we’re supposed to believe that’s being done ethically and legally?
But the warnings were ignored—
And now the very bricks white Americans thought were untouchable… are being removed.

#CivilRights #SolidarityMatters #WeTriedToTellYou #FoundationsCracking
If those bricks had been reinforced when people of color were urging white America to pay attention to their civil rights struggles, maybe it wouldn’t be so easy now to pull them from the foundation.

As your Black friends if there was ever really a JD? Especially those in EDNC!
