This is what happens when you fund the police.
Half a century ago, in 1975, when I was 14 and I lived in Boston and the Red Sox lost to the Reds. And now in 2025, when I'm 64 and I live in Toronto and the Blue Jays lost to the Dodgers.
50 years ago I was a 14 year old living in Boston when the Red Sox lost a heartbreaking game 7 in a fabulous series. Now at 64, I'm living in Toronto and once again, the home team loses in a game 7 heartbreaker in another fabulous series.

This is the beauty of baseball.

50 years ago I was a 14 year old in Boston watching the Red Sox lose game 7. Now at 64 I’m living in Toronto, still watching the home team lose a heartbreaking game 7.

That’s the beauty of baseball.
He’s welcome to go. He won’t last a day.
They just really want to say the n-word, don't they? It's so racist. And also so misogynistic. But it's no different from Reagan's welfare queens. Nothing ever changes in America.
When he’s done you’ll be begging Canada/Britain to march back to Washington and burn it all down again.
Another reason to move to Canada. We have a functioning government. With air traffic controllers.
Mitch McConnell hoping senility takes over before he recognizes he destroyed America to feed his insatiable lust for political power.
The destroyed one was so retro cool. The new one is typical Trump tacky.
Yes playoff tickets command high prices, but regular season games are often hard to sell even at a discount, particularly if the team isn’t doing well.
Also as a former Patriots season ticket holder I couldn’t always resell my tickets when I couldn’t go to the game, so a reasonable mark up on the ones I did sell helped cover the loss on those I didn’t sell or sold below face value.
Don't underestimate the possibility that John Roberts is actually kinda dumb.
Rite of passage for teenagers and for dads.
Thinking particularly of America, I think the predominant belief is that individuals are solely responsible for their success or failure. To tax the rich, therefore, is to punish them for their virtue, while to help the poor is to reward their vice and deny them the punishment they need to reform.
But Christianity, at least as understood by people like Vance, is exclusive.
Everyone who hasn’t already should read Achen and Bartels β€œDemocracy for Realists.”
I don't know what this is all about, but "rancid wretch of an amoeba" is something you write when you're not very good at writing but really wish you were.
