Excellent. Looking forward to it.
Tried watching the Mean Girls musical remake because it popped up on Netflix and... Just, why?

40 minutes in and, ironically, the dialogue is like watching bad karaoke of the original, and the songs are just forced, and not even slightly catchy. I'm done with that.
The outstanding JRock band NEK! are releasing their first full length album on November 26th. This is my favourite rack they've put out so far (though it may not be on this album, as it's comparatively old, and was on their first EP)

Blade II is a lot of fun, but my hobby horse is that Crimson Peak needs to be MUCH higher. I'm pleased to see Hellboy II a good way up the list though. I maintain that it's the best middle ground between his very personal artsy side and his 'one for them' commercial films. I LOVE that movie.
I don't think it will ever fully stop being a book town - that would KILL the town economy - but I visited for a day maybe seven or eight years ago, and it just didn't feel the same at all. Perhaps a few more bookshops have (re)opened since the pandemic, but it lost that aura for me.
We never went for the festival, deliberately, because it would be RAMMED and very expensive then. It was usually something we did for half-term. I think I was last there when I was about 20 (so, yes, 24 years), and we probably went regularly for about 5 years before that.
About 25 years ago. It was fantastic then, every second shop was full of towers of second hand books.
We used to go to Hay quite often (when there were LOADS more bookshops there), best thing I ever found was the Psychotronic Video Guide. Think Halliwells for sleaze.
And yes, I had to put Madonna despite the fact the last album of her's I liked (Confessions on a Dancefloor) is turning 20 next year (and getting a sequel). I picked Tori Amos rather than Kate Bush because I discovered Tori first, and ultimately I probably love more of her catalogue and more deeply.
I tried to make this a mix of artists I grew up on and what I'm listening to now, as well as people that certain loves grew from be it JRock (Band Maid and Glim Spanky), Pop (Madonna and Saint Etienne) Singer/songwriters (Tori, Frightened Rabbit) or rock as a whole (Queen).

Very glad it's not just me having issues with Youtube. Seems it's down for a lot of people.
I used to use a VHS box as my pencil case at school, and change out the artwork week by week. I definitely used a LOT of Drew Struzan art, particularly Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
New single from Hwasa. It's a somewhat sad but largely upbeat track about trying to have a good breakup and keep the good memories of a relationship. Quite different from her last major single, Na, which was just "I'm hot as fuck" (which, yeah, true).

I have a couple of minor gripes: I could do with a few more random encounters, because long rides can feel LONG, and the ranking up skills only at specific shrines feels like it takes SO much longer than in Tsushima. I liked the Legend system there, here everyone knows you immediately.
Just a stunning looking game. The design is so good too. I climbed a mountain to get the charms Atsu's parents left there, and what's great is that it doesn't TELL you where to go, but it also doesn't make the path hard to find, so exploration is rewarding, not frustrating.
I'd never heard of it before, just stumbled on it going through Prime (which is why, despite the dogshit UI, it's worth doing that on Prime)
