Its bold design choices might at first appear to limit its use to display contexts, yet in smaller sizes it reveals an unexpected potential for setting longer texts with a broad palette of typographic color.⁠

Illusion or reality—why choose? Clearly, Pinokio has many tales to tell…⁠
Four families with eight weights each, and an equal number of italics, together forming a multifaceted typographic narrative. In larger sizes, the typeface asserts itself, revealing multiple personalities through its numerous stylistic variants.
Pinokio offers multiple variants whose coherence is reinforced by an intentionally rudimentary design. The vertically cut diagonals of the Sans version allow for the emergence of serifs that grow progressively larger across the four families — Sans, Petit, Moyen, and Grand.⁠
To begin his research, Tanguy Vanlaeys created a story blending elements of fantasy and fiction to develop a hybrid typeface — a typographic chimera that combines the rigor of a geometric sans serif with the strong structure of a slab serif.⁠
