Best way this can end is if the Mariners win a few more very close games and somehow Toronto loses the series but finishes with a + run differential.

Look no further than the last time the Mariners were in the ALCS for hope. New York won the first 2 on the road, then in game 3 the Mariners erupted for 14 runs before then going cold again and losing games 4 and 5. Mariners have the pitchers lined up to do that same thing tomorrow and Friday.
