Saw him at FYF Fest back in 2015 and it was electrifying. Just an amazing artist and performer. One of a kind.
not D'Angelo! God damn 💔
The new album by Sudan Archives is just *loaded* with bangers. Nonstop jams.

I wrote about 'The BPM' for @treblezine.bsky.social
Album of the Week: Sudan Archives' 'The BPM' is a wide-ranging journey through America’s home-grown electronic sounds that never leaves the club

happy to be of service!
I also wrote about the new album by Hannah Frances, which is absolutely gorgeous. A must-hear imo.

I've written about Neko Case a bunch of times before and never felt satisfied with the finished product, but I think I did ok with her latest
The instrumentals are great!

We spoke to D.C. experimental punk group Black Eyes about their first new album in over two decades, and the path that led here

I have to assume most people my age discovered the Meat Puppets through Nirvana's Unplugged performance?

Maybe it's because I've been listening to a lot of Johnny Cash lately but that bad take is one I'm taking personally

#JAZZ #21Century

We put together 20 Essential Artists from the 21st Century Jazz Renaissance over @treblezine.bsky.social

Keep in mind that this list isn’t all seeing, but it serves as a great introduction to what’s happening in jazz right now.

Enjoy

literally any word in Spanish
What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?
Big shout out to @padlife.bsky.social for this list on 20 of the most significant names in 21st century jazz

(I did write one blurb tho!)

I would swap the first two but otherwise I'm pretty much in agreement with you
beautiful record, those horn arrangements!

Hannah Frances has very quickly grown into one of my favorite contemporary artists, and her new album 'Nested in Tangles' is a complex yet warm set of progressive folk, rich in dense horn arrangements and affecting lyrics about her own process of healing

I wrote about it for @treblezine.bsky.social
